With nearly immediately noticeable results, no surgery, and minimal recovery time, Botox can return the face to a more youthful look, quickly and safely. Dr. Peterson injects Botox directly into the muscles in a simple procedure, and after a few hours, you'll be able to resume normal activity.

The results of the injection will begin to appear within three to four days, and the effect will last up to four months. After that, treated muscles will begin to regain movement, but a quick repeat treatment makes it simple to sustain the look you want.

In addition to removing expression lines and creases across the forehead, a brow lift can provide relief to those worried that the position of their brows makes them appear tired or angry.

Brow lifts are often performed in conjunction with other cosmetic facial procedures, including eyelid surgery, facelifts, and skin resurfacing. Be sure to go into your pre-operative appointments with a clear goal in mind. From there, you and Dr. Peterson can work together to find what procedure or procedures can help you find your desired outcome.

Surgery Details

A number of different techniques are used by cosmetic surgeons to perform brow lifts. Dr. Peterson will choose one based on your face and desired outcome. Some brow lifts are performed through small incisions made just above the hairline.

If your desired outcome includes repositioning a sagging brow, incisions may be made at the temples and in the scalp. These incisions are often used in tandem with incisions hidden within the upper eyelids or on the bridge of the nose.

In a coronal brow lift, an incision is made above the hairline from ear to ear, and the forehead is lifted. This method allows Dr. Peterson to pinpoint specific areas of the brow and forehead that require attention, but it generally leads to a longer recovery.

The eyelids have a major effect on the way a face is perceived. Even if one is wide awake and completely alert, drooping eyelids can make a person look drowsy or disinterested. Bags beneath the eyes, or puffiness above the upper eyelid, only contribute to this perception.

Eyelid surgeries can be performed in conjunction with other cosmetic facial procedures including brow lifts, facelifts, and skin resurfacing.

Surgery Details

A drooping upper eyelid can be corrected using an incision following the upper crease of the lid. Once the incision has been made, Dr. Peterson will tighten the muscles and tissue in the lid and remove excess skin.

Work done on the lower eyelid is generally accomplished using an incision made just below the lash line.

After your procedure has been completed, Dr. Peterson may apply lubricating ointment and a compress. Your initial healing will likely include some swelling, bruising, irritation, and dry eyes.

A facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, can give you a smoother look that not only gives you confidence, but also makes you look and feel younger.

Facelifts are often performed in conjunction with other cosmetic facial procedures, including brow lifts and eyelid surgery. While injectable fillers will not provide the same amount of correction as a facelift, they might provide the results you are looking for or allow you to put off a full facelift. A facelift will not fundamentally change your appearance. It also cannot completely stop the aging process.

Surgery Details

In a traditional facelift, Dr. Peterson makes an incision that begins in the hairline at the temples and extends to the lower scalp behind the ear. Using this incision, she will sculpt and redistribute material in the face, jowls, and neck. Before skin is re-draped, excess skin is removed, tightening skin to the underlying tissue.

In a neck lift, an incision is made in front of the earlobe that extends around the ear and into the lower scalp. Sometimes an incision is made under the chin. These incisions are used to tighten muscles and remove loose neck skin and fat accumulation.

Following surgery, your face might be wrapped to minimize swelling and bruising, and a tube may be placed that will drain excess fluid and blood. The effects of your facelift will be apparent immediately, but it may take several months for swelling to go down entirely. Incision lines may take six months to a year to mature.

JUVÉDERM is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that keeps it hydrated. As we age, our skin begins to lose its concentration of hyaluronic acid, which contributes to formation of wrinkles and folds.

Dr. Peterson injects the gel into problems areas using a fine needle. JUVÉDERM has a smooth consistency, and flows easily into the skin during the injection process. This results in a smooth, natural look and feel not possible with other hyaluronic acid fillers that are made with a granular consistency.

If you are looking to add volume to your cheek area, we also offer JUVÉDERM VOLUMA services. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is the first FDA-approved injectable gel to instantly add volume to your cheek area to correct age-related volume loss.

As we age, lines known as nasolabial folds begin to form from the nose to the corners of the mouth. Restylane works immediately to eliminate moderate to severe folds, and facial wrinkles, and can add fullness and definition to lips* in as little as one treatment.

Consisting of a clear gel formulated with hyaluronic acid, Restylane acts like the body's own hyaluronic acid and eventually break down naturally.

*Restylane for lips can only be used for patients over 21 years old.

Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to stimulate new collagen production deep within your skin, providing a natural lift from the inside out. Not only is this non-invasive technique FDA-approved to lift skin on the neck, chin, and eyebrows, but it has now also been shown to lessen the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the décolleté.

While Ultherapy won’t duplicate the results of a surgical facelift, it’s a clinically proven, non-invasive alternative. It can also be a great option for patients who wish to further extend the effects of a prior cosmetic surgery.
