Mount Nittany Physician Group brings reconstructive and cosmetic services to the Centre Region by offering the services of Emily A. Peterson, MD, plastic and reconstructive surgeon, to the community.

Dr. Peterson is the first plastic surgeon employed by Mount Nittany Physician Group and performs all types of reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries as well as non-surgical procedures such as Botox® Cosmetic and Sculptra® Aesthetic.

A graduate of Cornell University, Peterson earned her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine, where she was awarded the Donald R. Cooper, MD Award for Excellence in Surgery. Her residencies included general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown.

Board-certified in plastic surgery, Dr. Peterson is a member of several professional medical associations, including the American Medical Association, American Board of Plastic Surgery, and the Association of Women Surgeons. Peterson has also authored and co-authored several articles for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the journal for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
